Moravec and Bradáčová

14.10.2025 - EB

Seemingly out of the blue, before any posts in a new Babiš cabinet had been finalized, debate show host Václav Moravec of Czech TV started talking on Sun. about whether it would be appropriate for constitutional lawyer Zdeněk Koudelka of Tricolor/SPD to become a political deputy at the justice ministry. The scandal, according to Moravec, is that Koudelka helped draft the text of Václav Klaus's amnesty of 2013. Motorists Chair Petr Macinka, who worked at the Castle then, denied that Koudelka was involved and insisted that the final product was Klaus's alone. Moravec, undeterred, tried to suggest that Koudelka might help to rig some of the political cases now before the courts. What Moravec didn't say is that Koudelka filed a criminal complaint against Supreme State Prosecutor Lenka Bradáčová, a frequent guest on Moravec's show, claiming that it's illegal for her to open a branch of her Brno-based office in Prague. This is apparently part of her power play to eliminate the two senior prosecutor's offices, but as a deputy justice minister, Koudelka would be above her in the hierarchy and might be able to stop it. So Moravec did his thing.
