Justice without political influence
The Justice section of the ANO+SPD+Motorists draft policy statement says that, "We want a legal system that protects the honest, punishes the guilty and works quickly, predictably and without political influence." This is stronger than what ANO called for in its election program, which didn't include the part about "political influence," despite Andrej Babiš's frequent claims of interference into the bitcoin, Dosimeter and PDZ credit-union scandals linked to the outgoing Fiala government. In his new book, Kauza Česko, ex-Dir. David Ondráčka of Transparency Int. ČR writes that the role of Lenka Bradáčová as one of the top state prosecutors definitely isn't black and white. She's neither Commissioner Cattani in a skirt, he says, nor someone who steps in to stop criminal cases. Ondráčka adds in this regard that we can only speculate about which affairs were part of a deal with then-Justice Min. Pavel Blažek of ODS, and whose immunity might have been in play, for allowing Bradáčová to move into the supreme state prosecutor's position. Which would be precisely the opposite of what the new government is promising in its policy statement.
