The grasshoppers and the ants
The chief of the grasshoppers was a pudgy little bugger named Jirka P. He and his fellow grasshoppers were jumping about all summer, singing, dancing, and enjoying themselves, as the ants worked hard to prepare for the winter. When the first cold days set in, Jirka and his swarm of locusts asked if they could come inside and share the ants' food. "You sang and danced all summer," the ants said, "so you can sing and dance while we eat." Sensing his delicate position as leader of a band of hungry insects, Jirka called for a vote and found that the grasshoppers were against reforming their own behavior. Instead, they chose to join forces with a group of bellicose red ants (formicidae communisticus), with whom they had enjoyed a long, symbiotic relationship. Together, they joyfully overran the anthill, forcing the responsible, hardworking ants to start all over again somewhere else.
