Unfinished revolution

10.02.2014 - EB

If Assistant U.S. Secretary of State Victoria Nuland had stayed in Prague for just a short time longer last week, Czech journalists could have asked her about her "F**k the EU" comment that appeared on Youtube on Feb. 4. They could have queried her about whether the U.S. intervenes in Czech politics in the same way that it apparently does in Ukraine. Reflex magazine has no doubts in this respect. In its Dec. 12th issue last year, it spoke about "civilizational imperialism" on the part of the U.S. and its ambassador to the CR, Norman Eisen. Just as the U.S. sent an ambassador to Moscow, Michael McFaul, who wrote a book entitled Russia's Unfinished Revolution, Eisen is one of the biggest supporters of the Reconstruction of the State movement in the CR, which by its very name suggests some sort of revolution. Václav Klaus's retaliatory claims of a "regime change" in the CR have a palpable but unspoken "F**k the EU" and "F**k the US" undertone to them. The difference is that Klaus's phone calls to coworkers, unlike Nuland's, haven't been leaked on Youtube.
