The Martin Roman conspiracy
We rarely quote Facebook, but a comment by Jakub Hlavata perfectly illustrates one of the biggest current divisions in Czech society. It's the division between those who don't know what is going on in ČSSD a.s. (or don't want to know), and those who do. "Could you please quit publishing your conspiracy theories about how Martin Roman rules this country?" he asked. Instead of giving young Jakub a history lesson, we'll rely on the admirable work of journalist Petr Honzejk of HN. He drafted a diagram in Oct. 2011 of how Czech politics and business work and said that it explains why nothing ever gets investigated. The diagram includes more than two dozen people and companies, from Bohuslav Sobotka to Mirek Topolánek, from ČEZ to Škoda Transportation. In the very center is Martin Roman. Honzejk understandably omitted lawyer Radek Pokorný's role in the conspiracy. He was on the supervisory board at the time of Honzejk's employer, Economia a.s.
