Cyber Green Deal
The promise of the Green Deal was that Europe would save the planet and also jump ahead of its rivals by investing into new technology and production processes. The reality is the deindustrialization of Europe and mounting social tension due to the tremendous costs involved. That's the European way of doing things, and PM Petr Fiala warned in MFD that the EU needs to wake up before it's too late. Yet his government is also pushing a new cybersecurity law that has much in common with the Green Deal. The proposal from the NÚKIB cybersecurity office identifies a threat, wraps it up in all kinds of ideology, makes sure a small group of people and companies profits handsomely, and then proceeds to dictate solutions that don't address the real issues. This time it's being driven by U.S. geopolitical interests, with the help of people like Army Chief of Staff Karel Řehka and Sen. Pavel Fischer. Fiala could write another article about how his government needs to wake up before it's too late.
